Ping Hai Harbor Cross Sea Water Supply Emergency Project- Installation of Cross Sea Water Main

Location: Pu Tian, Fu Jian

Construction Period: April 2007 – September 2007

Project Profile:

The Ping Hai Harbor Cross Sea Water Supply Emergency Project is one of the key projects in Fu Jian in 2006. The total length of the water supply pipelines is 44.4 km. The cross sea section is part of the Nan Ri branch pipelines, which is designed to deliver 15,000 t per day. The actual total install length of this section is 9886m, while the total length of the submarine pipeline is 9629m, the section connects the onshore section (main land) and submarine section is 157m long, and the section going on the island is 100m long. In this project, pipe laying barge was used for pipeline installation, and post trenching machine was used for the post trenching operation.

Innovations:
1) This project had set a domestic record for installation of submarine SPE pipeline with the maximum thickness at the deepest water depth. The deepest installation water depth reached 36.7m, and the thickness was 24mm.
2) After the installation of the cross sea SPE pipeline, the required test pressure of this pipeline set a domestic record for the highest test pressure for submarine water supply pipelines, which reached 1.3m/Pa
