In October 2015, as the No.22 strong typhoon “rainbow” attacked Zhanjiang city, the local wharves and port facilities were damaged severely, several vessels sank or grounded which destructed the production and construction activities of Zhanjiang city and threatened the property and personal security of the local residents.

Upon receiving this information, Guangzhou Salvage mobilized the professional salvage vessels: 4000t full revolving crane barge “HUA TIAN LONG”, 500t crane barge “NAN YANG” and AHT “DE JIN”, the technical team and equipments to site for the rescue and salvage operation. 

By the mid-November, six vessels (like “YUE GONG ZHUANG 8, “HUA FU YOU 2”, “JIN HAI YUE”,etc) were rescued, four vessels (“YUE GONG TUO 3”, “YUE GONG ZHUANG 6”, “YUE YU LEI 01301” and “YUE PO YU 50108” ) were salvaged, and five ship-unloaders were removed. This rescue and salvage project has cleared the Zhanjiang waterway and guaranteed the production activity of Zhanjiang Port (Group) Co, Ltd and Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., LTD. This project has made great contribution to the recovery of the production activity of Zhanjiang city and it has been reported in Nanfang Daily, China Communications News and Zhanjiang Daily, which has aroused the wide concern from society.
