As the largest and longest urban road immersed tunnel in China mainland,Nanchang Honggu tunnel is located between Nanchang bridge and Bayi Bridge (about 1.3 km away from Nanchang bridge, about 2.3 km away from the Bayi Bridge), connecting Honggutan with the old city. With length of 2650 meters the tunnel is being building under immersed tube method within about 42 months.. It is designed as a two-way six lane urban road for 50 km / hour vehicle speed,once built and opened ,Honggu tunnel will greatly ease the traffic pressure of the Nanchang bridge and the Bayi bridge  between  on the new town and dawn town of Nanchang ,it will also play an important role in enriching urban network, urban image upgrade.
