As maincontractor, Guangzhou Salvage was granted the Ningbo Yongjiang tunnel projects contract with a total investment of 162 million yuan. The two-way tunnel consists south cut-and-cover of 228.84m ,north cut-and-cover of  360.42m ,and 4 reinforced concrete units with a length of 419.58m.Each unit has length of 80~85m.The main contract works includes 5 unit immerse works ,the shore of the road, shaft, retaining wall and auxiliary channel and other ancillary works of the construction. Ningbo tunnel was opened to traffic in December 1994.
Engineering characteristics: Ningbo Yongjiang tunnel is first built on the soft soil foundation immersed tunnel in China mainland, filling the immersed method technology in underwater tunnel  on soft soil foundation ,the construction method and the developed engineering equipment was first applied successfully, which was participated in the International Tunnelling Association of technical exchanges.
Award situation: the project was granted second awards of the Ministry of science and technology achievements by MOC in 1997.
