		The largest underwater tunnel of Asia, the Shanghai Outer Ring Cross-river Tunnel, was partly completed by GS. The 7 immersed units in the mid of the river was successfully layed by GS.It was the first time in China that the underwater tubes were jointed by method of Connecting In the Water. The successful installation was a milestone in China’s Immersed-Units Method development.The underwater section is 736 overall long, and is consisted by 7 units of concrete immersed tubes, each 100-108 m long, 43 m wide, and 9.55 m high.The project began on Nov 28 1999 and was completed in June 2003. Evaluated by figures of vehicle channels, width and weight of the tubes, this tunnel is the largest in Asia.
